Water hydrates the mucous membranes found in your nose, throat, bronchi, and lungs. When they are well hydrated, the chances of your developing viral and bacterial infections will decrease or will help you overcome them faster.
The risk of cardiovascular disease is also reduced by drinking the recommended daily amount of water. Your heart can pump blood more easily if your drink water. With proper blood circulation, all the cells in your body will receive the right amounts of oxygen that they need.
Proper hydration will lubricate your muscles and joints. To avoid cramps and dehydration, athletes need to drink water before, during, and after exercise.
